Description

The goal of this oral history project is to chronicle the history of Oberlin’s Experimental College within the broader context of Oberlin history and the history of higher education. This interview will supplement written records about ExCo’s founding and development.

According to the Oral History Association, “oral history is a method of gathering and preserving historical information through recorded interviews with participants in past events and ways of life.” Those approached for an interview have been approached because they were involved in the founding of Oberlin’s Experimental College, participated in the development of the program and/or have memories to share about the program’s continued significance.
